Thenmala — 'honey hill' — is India's planned eco-tourism zone in the Kollam-side Ghats: forest trails, a reservoir's butterfly garden and the road to Palaruvi's ribbon falls.

Eco-zone & forest

Managed forest tourism is the concept here: boardwalks and sculpture gardens near the dam viewpoint, mountain-bike tracks and a musical fountain in the zone below; above it, the Shendurney forest country. The classic add-on is Palaruvi falls further up the valley (seasonal access — ask locally). Deer park and rope bridges fill family days.
