Seven days is the first itinerary where Kerala's famous triangle stops being a march and starts being a trip. The classic loop: Kochi → Alleppey (boat night) → Kumarakom (lagoon) → Thekkady (Periyar) → Munnar (tea) → back to Kochi — or the reverse, which we slightly prefer because it ends flat and beach-able. Ernakulam guide →
The drive reality check from the curated table: Kochi↔Alleppey ≈ 53 km, Alleppey↔Kumarakom ≈ 16 km (water hop), Kumarakom↔Munnar ≈ 110 km of ghats, Munnar↔Thekkady ≈ 110 km more ghats, Thekkady↔Kochi ≈ 140 km. Days with ghat legs get one destination, not two.
Where the magic sits: the second hour of the Alleppey dawn, Periyar's first boat, and the Munnar estate walk before 10 am. Everything else is logistics — which the planner turns into priced legs.
Extend to ten days by adding Wayanad in the north or Varkala–Kovalam in the south; compress to five with the guide linked below.
